Gain hands-on, foundational instruction in one of San Antonio's most in-demand heritage trades: wood window restoration. This one-week intensive course — taught by a local master craftsperson and LHTA graduate — introduces participants to the repair and restoration of historic wood windows.

Over the course of the week, you'll learn the skills and techniques needed to preserve, restore, and maintain original wood windows in aging and historic buildings. It covers the assessment of window conditions; introductory sash and frame repair; window operation (unsticking sealed sashes, rehanging and restoring pulley and weight systems, etc); reglazing and repainting; and weatherstripping.

Emphasis is on retaining as much original material as possible, following preservation standards, using appropriate materials and methods, and balancing historic integrity with improved performance.
