Architectural Antiques Salvage

From the company: Architectural Antiques is a large warehouse just east of downtown San Antonio, Texas. The building was originally the old Budweiser warehouse. Architectural Antiques houses over 30,000 sq. ft. of architectural items on sale to the public. Barry and Lindsay Rusler are the owners and founders of Architectural Antiques, who opened the store in August of 1989. Most of our inventory comes from the San Antonio area, but we also have merchandise from St. Louis, New Orleans, Georgia, California, Mexico, and even Egypt. The inventory consists primarily of old doors (about half of our old doors on the floor have already been stripped, sanded, and when needed glass replaced with the old glass), hardware (often referred to as house jewelry, is clean, polished, and sealed), door locks, knobs, hinges & mortises, lighting (all lighting is rewired and parts replaced), fire place mantles, wooden sash windows, clawfoot tubs, pedestal sinks, porch posts & columns, iron fencing, and much more Victorian Decor.

We also offer to our customers to strip any old wooden items. For example, long-leaf pine, cypress, and mesquite. Stripping the paint off old wood is to be able to see the beauty and natural colors of the different woods. However, only woods that are tolerable to water can be stripped. For example, oak and veneer, will warp if saturated by water. Ninety percent of all wood homes, in the south, are constructed with old long-leaf pine, cypress, and mesquite and are used on the interior or the exterior of homes. Sadly as of 1926, the old long-leaf pine was totally lumbered out, and is only now available in salvaged items. We also offer to clean, polish, and seal any old hardware that you may own. Prices vary on size, condition, and labor.
